What Is A Toxic Person?
A toxic person is someone has who is abusive, unsupportive, or unhealthy emotionally — basically, someone who always manages to bring the people around them down. They do this by possessing a collection of negative behaviors and traits which they’ve automatically developed to help protect their fragile self-esteem. To deal with the negative emotions they feel about themselves, they lash out on their partners and friends. Some toxic behaviors and traits used to cope are manipulation, control, lying, gas-lighting, backhanded compliments, blame-shifting, victimhood, and suspicion.
